Team Member at University of New Haven
Class of 2022
Hometown: Deer Park, NY
Major: Forensic Science
I spend a lot of time in the Gerber/Bixler Quad. There's always something to do there, whether SCOPE has organized an event or my friends and I just decide to toss around a Frisbee.
I am very interested in the Forensic Science program at the school. Many of the schools that were located to where I live didn't have a forensic science program, so I decided to look at out of state schools. The University of New Haven allows first year students to take classes relevant to their major freshman year for many of the majors at the schools, which is unlike most colleges. The atmosphere on campus is also very inclusive and I knew the first time I walked on campus I had found my home for the next 4 years.
My favorite class was Forensic Biology. This class let me get hands-on experience working with DNA, saliva, blood, and other bodily fluids. In the future, I want to go into DNA analysis, and this class help me realize that and get real-life experience that I can use in the future.
