My favorite place on campus is the Bergami Center for Science, Technology, and Innovation. The building itself is really beautiful inside, and there is a ton of space for students to hangout. I love to just sit at a table and talk with friends or do homework for hours here.
My favorite class was business finance. I honestly was not looking forward to taking this at first, but I loved it. I enjoy working with numbers and we were able to put finance in the context of companies that were individualized to each student. I got to create a mock portfolio of companies that I love, and it was really fascinating to track their performance. I also took this class when COVID hit, so we were able to watch the stock market disruption.
I chose the University of New Haven for many reasons. I really loved the location as I have family near NYC and Boston and CT is a perfect middle. I also am in love with New England and plan on staying in New England for the rest of my life. I love the size of the school as well. I am able to see familiar faces everywhere I go, but am still meeting new people all the time. The programs the school offered and the diversity of students who attend also drew me in. My favorite coincidence that I now consider a sign is that the rec center is called the David A. Beckerman rec center. The rec center also has a racquetball court, which not many schools have. My dad's name is also David Beckerman, and we've been playing racquetball together for years. It was a nice connection to make that always makes me smile.
